HIDDEN HILLS, Los Angeles County — October 24, 2026. Hidden Hills took part in one of Los Angeles County’s notable 2026 changes to municipal boundaries. The annexation officially recorded by LAFCO on August 17 did not transfer all of Craftsman’s Corner to Calabasas. Instead, the joint reorganization added a smaller portion of the historically unincorporated territory into Hidden Hills.
Which part was assigned to Hidden Hills?
The neighboring City of Calabasas published an official joint-annexation information page identifying approximately 12 acres encompassing four parcels for Hidden Hills, compared with approximately 145 acres designated for Calabasas. Craftsman’s Corner is located north of Highway 101, between the two existing cities. The precise legal boundaries of an individual parcel must be determined from recorded LAFCO maps rather than simply from a street name or postal ZIP code.
Why the distinction matters
The territory that joined Hidden Hills falls under its city governance for applicable municipal and land-use matters; the much larger adjoining portion joined Calabasas. The two city governments may have different rules for building, property improvements, local elections or business activities. People with properties near the dividing line should first verify which municipality has jurisdiction, rather than assume all of Craftsman’s Corner is now part of one city.
Los Angeles County’s geographic updates also record a 2026 boundary adjustment for both Hidden Hills and Calabasas. That independent county administrative record corroborates the two-city nature of the change.
What about permits and services?
Calabasas’s joint-annexation resource notes that existing county-issued discretionary permits and conditions continue after annexation. But service arrangements should not automatically be assumed identical for the separate Hidden Hills parcel group. Property owners should contact the relevant municipality and county agencies about current planning authority, public safety and any ongoing applications. No increase in property tax, change of mailing address or new service bill should be assumed without official, parcel-specific confirmation.
The joint reorganization was the outcome of a yearslong process, not an announcement about future land development. It is a legal boundary adjustment.
